"And The Best Of 2017 Is..."
Happy New Year to everyone! I am very excited for all the new adventures to come here at Gretchen Elaine Photography. Before everything gets crazy with 2018, I wanted to take a step back and look at my favorites from 2017!
2017 was a big year for myself and Gretchen Elaine Photography and I wanted to share the 10 best moments with GEP and our family.
Back at the end of June, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Reagan and Adam as a couple. This was one of my favorites because of the amazing light we had, beautiful venue, and such a genuine and down to earth couple to photograph.
These next two are fun since one was taken in a beautiful sunflower field in August and the other was taken after the first snow of December. My favorite images are almost always the small soft smiles that peak out. I love more of the serious look especially with kids. Both of them are adorable in their own unique way.
Seniors sessions are so much fun because each senior has a different style and look. Cate (on the left) loved the summery look and nature feel. Mackenzie (on the right) was more of an autumn season senior and loved more of a rustic feel with photos under a covered bridge and stone wall. Both girls had beautiful shots during their sessions, these are just a couple of my favorites outdoors.
I have an appreciation for not only lifestyle portraits but also for more of a fine art approach. The photo of Cate on the left is the perfect example of this. We were shooting in studio and I saw this really cool door with frosted glass. I knew I had to do something with it because it was a beautiful frame. We incorporated her love of art in to her photos this way.
For the image on the right, I love the whimsical feel in the woods. It reminds me of something out of a fairytale. I love the uniqueness of this past session and everything just came together perfectly.
These last two images from the best of 2017 are from my bridal / wedding side of my work. The image on the left is from Cate & Pete's beautiful outdoor wedding. I love this image because it is so powerful and its breathtaking every time I look at it.
The image on the right was from a mock bridal session I did with my friend / model, Bella. I have always wanted to photograph an autumn wedding and this was the image I was determined to capture. I love the colors and depth.
Those are my top 10 favorite images from this past year! I am curious now, which ones are your favorites and why?
Honestly, I love all my images and I am so thankful for everyone who have supported not only myself but also Gretchen Elaine Photography this past year! You are all part of the GEP family and I look forward to continuing this journey together.
Coming up, Gretchen Elaine Photography will be having a New Year portrait opportunity so stay tuned and don't miss out!
